Would it have been any different if I had stayed home? Judging from what has become of my friends (!), I think that it could have been far worse. It is because they are my friends for several years; I would obviously stick a little to them; I would be quickly corrupted with them, for I would wish to stay with them.
Yet I wonder: would my presence have saved them? No...one alone, not hanging out all the time with them, could not make that difference. If they want enough to be like the rest of them, then there is hardly any use for me. If they want enough to lose themselves in a facilitated euphoria, then I cannot help them.
