Never, ever, again. [journal]

Glad to not have been the only one traumatized by it. A couple of other first-years in the same role as myself had been quite visibly upset by it too — heard Jon had been almost in tears by the time he got back here that night. Kevin and Jon had planned to write a letter to ESS about how badly executed it was and stuff [Yeah, I'm sorry, but not even my parents, as trained registered nurses, for a living, work on a nurse to patient ratio of 1:25. I somehow don't think 1 sober monitor to 25 drunk kids (2 monitors to a bus) — or on some buses on the way back, where there was only one monitor, 1 to 50 — is legal under whatever licence we operate this.], but Kevin said they tossed the idea because they didn't want to gain the party-pooper reputation so soon. [I forgot to mention that Kevin, although jokingly, suggested that perhaps all sober monitors get counselling after their experience. If reality TV stars get professional counselling after their appearance, we should too. Our experience is comparably psychologically damaging.]
Now, these two very nice gentlemen are older than me — I think they're taking this as a second degree so they're already accustomed to campus life and such — and they were affected similarly severely.
I am not alone in this, then, although its effects were stronger on me because I've come straight from high school and have never witnessed people drinking to get drunk until then.
Don't misunderstand my views — they are result of my experience there, not beliefs that caused me to be dissatisfied there.
