I woke up at 7:30 today, when the alarm on my watch rang. (Yeah, not again!)

My tooth continued hurting.

I thought I would have to skip ASK club's turkey dinner tonight to finish my ENGG130 homework, but then I finished it at lunch!

Then Graeme (one of the FY liaisons) took some of the new FYEC exec (that's me included) to our office, which was being used as a storage room by ESS since September. After we cleared out some of the trash and the leftover-meat-from-the-BBQ-two-weeks-ago,-gone-bad cooler, there was a TV, a DVD player, an old computer, a couple of couches and desk chairs, a sentimental stack of lunch trays stolen from CAB, a sign stolen from U of C that says "ENGINNERING ACCESS" [sic], a coffee table with a column of Dilbert comics taped to it, a stack of Dilbert comics, a shelf of donated textbooks and class notes (nice!!), half a box of Coca-Cola, a box of non-beer beer, and some other junk, like empty pop cans (4 boxes). Then the ESS guys moved the extra boxes of Engg paper that they were storing there (darn. We wanted free Engg paper). [Turns out it wasn't Engg paper. They were boxes of extra student handbooks. Which was frustrating for the ESSers, since they were wondering why they ran out of Engg handbooks so soon.] Then we became some sort of zoo exhibit or something. We decided that Half-Thai Mike should be VP Interior Design and fix up the room. We need new paper for this year's Quote Wall, and we should finish covering the coffee table in Dilbert comics.

Anyway, since I finished my ENGG130 assignment (the flaw in the algebra situation last night was caused by an incorrect sign in one of my formulae) before Lab of Hell today (or maybe because the lab was comparatively easy), I managed to finish the worksheet in 1' 10"! It's a miracle! And I knew how to do all of the questions! I also sat alone, near a group of 4 Asians who were working together, not that I needed to talk to them much, just to confirm answers. Working alone is nice when you know what you're doing. I just sat there, put my mp3 player on, and worked as fast as I could.

Because my fingertips are double jointed, the first joint on my index finger is in much pain not because of my typing and stuff (that's more of a whole-finger pain), but from my usual death-grip on the pencil when I need to print firmly and neatly.

After I finished that, I felt so elated I went to the ESS store and bought a Engg fridge magnet for my family.  It was 35 cents.  It's the cheapest thing there, but that's all I can really afford to afford.  They also have really cool aluminum chess sets (with the foldable box/board), I can't remember how much they were, and Swiss army knives ($35. I want one. Totally. And one of the beer mugs too.).

Speaking of chess sets, one of the sidewalk stands in SUB today sold handmade wooden chess sets.  There were these really tiny sets for $15.  The board is on the inside of a box, and the box is about 3 inches square.  The pieces fit on the board with little pegs.  It's SOOOOOOOO cool!  Except I'm not really into chess anymore.  I want one of those tiny mahjongg sets they sell at Calgary Chinatown, in the cultural centre, or in that imports store next to Dragon City mall where I got my dagger.

So I did go to the ASK dinner.  The turkey was amazingly good, although I only took one plate of food since my tooth was hurting.

Mom called to confirm that I was going home tomorrow afternoon, and I mentioned to her that I need to see a dentist and to try to book an appointment for the next long weekend.

So that's what's gone on up until now.  I still have 30 pages in my sociology text to skim through - I'm sure I'll do fine on the midterm tomorrow, loads of this stuff is stuff I've been able to reason out before.
