on a totally unrelated note...how are you finding linear algebra? I've got to have it in a semester or two (whenever I get around to taking it) and I've been dreading it for some odd reason. I hate trig, but love calculus...so, whats it like? :P
trig is limited, calculus is practically nonexistant (there's a few concepts that require basic calculus - for lin algebra I at least)
the idea behind linear algebra is can you solve this:
x + 2y = 5 2x - y = 7
Only there are more variables and more pieces of information and here's 20 new methods of solving it and how this relates to planes and vectors and how you can solve various problems with those using lin algebra....
The two biggest problems with lin algebra: 1) lots and lots and lots of computations - and you do not get a calculator 2) (at least for Engineering lin Algebra I but I'm not sure how much lin algebra II they pick up so....) lots and lots of theory and formulas - and you don't get a formula sheet.
And I hate trig AND calculus, but I really like linear algebra. I get totally infuriated with the students who always complain about how "difficult" linear algebra is (for example the male student who was sitting in front of me during lecture on Wednesday) and keep trying to tell me that calculus is much easier.
