Day 3.3 Illustrated edition
May. 21st, 2009 11:01 pmOlder stuff first...
From Monday:
You know, if you're going to be selling a lot of products whose names have funny letters in them, please invest in printers that will actually print them. (That should say HJÄRTA and MÖRK on there.)

From Tuesday, I think. I drew this with one of those little (eraser-less) IKEA pencils while being really really bored with nothing to do, on the back of one of those random WARNING! notices from a furniture package. (A4 paper! Birch tree!)

**********
It was raining quite a bit in the morning and it was really cold. And then my bus just suddenly DIED shortly after leaving Southgate. The battery went too, so the driver had to call headquarters on his cell phone because he couldn't use the radio. It was still only 7:30 so Artsy Guy couldn't have gotten far on his way to work and so I called him and asked him to come pick me up, instead of waiting for the bus to go. About 10 minutes later, the driver managed to get the bus going again, but that only lasted about a block - just enough to make it to the next stop. It died again. Since I'd already given Artsy Guy my coordinates, I got off the bus and walked back to where we were before, and watched the bus sit stalled from there. Even when he showed up, he got a little bit lost and couldn't quite get to where I was so I had to go find him instead. And then he got lost a bit more. But we only managed to be 20 minutes late, which really wasn't that bad.
Getting to build this totally made my day. The parts are made in Finland! Yes, I totally had to cut out this label.

Artsy Guy is apparently in my Existentialism class next term. I don't know if that's going to be a good or a bad thing.
My left arm is really sore again. I think it happens when I overextend my elbow, which happens quite easily since my elbows are double-jointed.
The IKEA coworkers working with us want to "get to know us better" and invited us furniture people out for drinks after work tomorrow. Artsy Guy wants to go for a bit (I think he still has to get to his other job after), but I think I may just pass. SHE is getting a bit too excited about the weekend (she's going to Las Vegas) and plans to drink quite a bit tomorrow, so if the IKEA guys want to learn something about me, it's that I don't like "getting to know people" over drinks. Besides, I've already spent enough money this week and I'm not going to spend more of it on drinks.
Un-work-related: CSG makes a pretty good tomato & meat pasta sauce. He said that I should post a picture of the heart-shaped pillow and write about how much I love it, but really, I don't know what to say about that, so here's just a picture, along with an older IKEA bedspread and bedframe.
