* Finished off the work delivered to us yesterday relatively quickly.
* Most of the group went off to actually install some of the furniture into the display area once it had been completed, leaving me and Artsy Guy in the workshop, building a few other things.
* I actually sort of like how Artsy Guy prefers to go his own way to get lunch (or lack thereof, like myself).
* Because like I said yesterday, the other coworkers are my age, but they're too young for me.
* Artsy Guy and I are really the only artsy-type people here.
* SHE is the really boyish and butch type, the kind who'd be an engineer if she had the education. Hence her stories about being drunk and being rude to people she doesn't like, etc. etc.
* So I think that bitchy is HER usual demeanour, and the current "niceness" must be pasted on.
* At least there weren't drunk adventure stories today.
* Lunch conversation today went from bad cops to guns. Sigh.
* For the former: I think it's perfectly okay to rant about things, but in order to not sound completely ignorant, one should also consider attempting to rationalize why things might be the way they are, and if you really can't figure out why, then hey, maybe other people can help you understand things might be that way. You don't have to accept the status quo and you can still rant about it, but I think one should always try to understand it - you know, that "empathy" thing that my parents like to say that I haven't got. I kind of got the impression that they were just complaining because, well, it's what kids do - whine about how authority is "unjust" to them. Teenagers rebel against parents; young adults rebel against social institutions. Teenagers feel powerless; young adults have reached the age of responsibility but don't want to face it. Which is probably why there appears to be that ignorance.
* Sorry, that's my inner sociologist ranting.
* ...
* That is the sound of me being quiet and looking away, when people start talking about guns. The only thing I said to that conversation was "I'm a pacifist, I don't touch mechanical or explosive weapons," and I left it at that.
* There wasn't much for me and Artsy Guy to do by about 2:30 but tidy up the workshop area (it had become quite the mess with assembled furniture and tools lying about everywhere).
* The part of my fingernail that had broken from the window-smash has started to grow out and now I can see where the nail was cracked. I just want it to grow out as quickly as possible so I can get rid of it and have my finger be all normal again.
