Descent

The light dims and I rise again
A leftover soul from a backwards time
In a time that it doesn't belong to

Some anger flowers, but its cause
Unseen by those who succumbed to the lies
Lives in silence, boiling inside my heart

Ignore it? But hatred is strong
Won't abandon what it came to be for
Whether others understand why or not

Forget it? This willful defiance will
Stand a life behind dark cold metal bars
Don't lose my freedom, don't let it take charge

Still I maintain a hopeful wish
That what hate should pass come partly to pass
If I could hold back a hungry hero

This descent into free madness
Illuminates the extent of her lies
Those who don't believe are those who survive

Even if I do go crazy
And tear out the heart from her guilty chest
Would you still love me, would you forgive me

For I've descended into this
To do what my honor demands of me
Which I cannot and should not come to do
