Some things make us a little more irritable at night and on cold days.

Things sometimes happen to us that leave a black scar on our hearts, and yet we should not hide those hideous reminders inside us if we seek for them to be recognized. So we must punish ourselves for it regardless, for when things never seem to be understood when we try to explain them, we must suffer physically so the weakminded can see it, and for ourselves...

I don't often do weird things for vanity...not just because they "look cool." Like I've once said, I've thought about whether to let my finger heal or to live with it in pain forever as a reminder of what I had to give up so I could be in contact with my people. It's definitely not fun.

Likewise with wanting a tattoo of a demon (or at the least something in fire) -- it's not about looks. I personally don't really want something drawn on me for life either, but I have to be punished for not being able to chose between darkness and light and reject the other, and for letting darkness come so far (be it my fault or not). If in the future that is no longer the case or if light has downed once more then be it a reminder of the past. If in the future it is still as I am now or if darkness has fallen then be it a symbol of warning to all who see it, for they cannot understand my words of it nor can they read my mind to see that such a creature is in their midst.
