A Desperate Rain
Apr. 29th, 2007 08:50 pmStanding by the window
Watching the cloudy sky
Night draws her veil upon
The storm seeds floating by.
She throws her cloak over her head and takes a step outside
Where a desperate rain begins to fall.
She remembers the sound of a faraway sea tide
And suddenly her thoughts are here no more.
Lost in a memory now
She falls onto her knees
Gazing up to heaven
Unto the rain she pleas:
"Wash away these memories that bind me to my home
And burn the treasures of my heart.
Give me the power to cast off me this stone
That reminds me of lives torn apart."
But the rain still falls like tears
And the tears still fall like rain
Running down the muddy trails
To the sea and back again.
Watching the cloudy sky
Night draws her veil upon
The storm seeds floating by.
She throws her cloak over her head and takes a step outside
Where a desperate rain begins to fall.
She remembers the sound of a faraway sea tide
And suddenly her thoughts are here no more.
Lost in a memory now
She falls onto her knees
Gazing up to heaven
Unto the rain she pleas:
"Wash away these memories that bind me to my home
And burn the treasures of my heart.
Give me the power to cast off me this stone
That reminds me of lives torn apart."
But the rain still falls like tears
And the tears still fall like rain
Running down the muddy trails
To the sea and back again.
