I cut off ties with a friend last weekend, and I found a box of stuff that she'd given me when we met in first year. That's what your little passage reminded me of.

I didn't think it was such a commonly known piece of trivia... However, I have used it before as part of his description in one of my poems (http://kyrasantae.livejournal.com/173576.html), so maybe that tipped you off :) Of course, it's too obvious that I was hinting at something, since I never use wolves in my writing - it's too overused in the realm of 'goth' ... stuff.
