A highly romanticized awareness...
Jan. 8th, 2007 08:22 am"Dropping out of school to pursue a band full-time is dedication.
Dropping out of school because, in part, of the desperation to find a band to do the above with perhaps, is disappointment of the highest order."

I was right to doubt you, but wrong to think
that you would redeem yourself in your truth.
A light is binding [sic] me to the door to eternity
And I'm falling, falling through
"I'm not the one I thought I always knew..."
So you, Awakener, ever wand'ring sojourner
[
[
Burrowing, tunneling
The lie I lived was yours alone
Regression, ascension
And here I'm digging my own grave**
I never forgave you...what makes you think I will now?
Some things never change, Theiyonus.
* DT + (Sense of Humour) = Good Thing. They've beat me to pretty much all of the clever ideas I wanted to use in my own creations >.< Like crazy cross-album musical and lyrical references. And supposed concert antics. And other totally awesome things like that. I think I've found my genre. ^.^
** Damn you, parallelism.

Please don't drop out of school.
Date: 2007-01-09 09:39 am (UTC)Finish school and then pursue your music career. I think that you will succeed, but the extra time will give you time to perfect your craft.
I believe in you, but I don't want to see you fail by coming out too early. You have talent: that is undenable. By releasing that talent too early you make yourself prey to those who would use you rather than help you.
I want to hear "This song is by Kyra!" on the radio.
Re: Please don't drop out of school.
Date: 2007-01-09 03:35 pm (UTC)The second part of that phrase was referring to the fact that I'm dangerously close to being kicked out of school at this point in time. I have a certain high standard I ABSOLUTELY must reach this term or I'm pretty much being kicked out of university and demoted to community college, else barred from attending uni/college for a year altogether.
The only craft that the extra time will afford me is practice in writing text. And only the text. I desperately seek people to help me learn the musical side of songwriting.
