"Altoification," as Martin calls it

kyrasantaeI signed up for the Christmas carolling troupe division of my choir. I figured it'd be a chance to sing as a small group so audiences could hear my Soprano II Extraordinaire skills (that's what it said on my audition sheet).
Except there's too many sopranos who signed up.
And now they need more strong sight-readers/singers/peoples in the other section. So I've been asked to sing alto.
Darn, no stardom here.
(I did ask, however, that if, at any performance, for some strange reason, there aren't enough sopranos available, I could do the part, because I honestly want to sing soprano more than anything. It's not because it's easy to have the melody, but, you know, to be sort of in the spotlight, so to speak.)
