I can't transfer directly into Science for next year, since I'll have to clear academic warning (probationary) status inside Engineering first. That means I have to spend a term with a course load of at least 14 engineering credits, and maintain a 2.0 average for that term. Once I clear that, I *should* be free to take as many science courses as I want for the second term, then transfer for 2007-8. I've also dropped co-op so I don't have freak about finding a job.

So here we are. Trying to maximize those 14 credits (actually 15.5 here, compared to, what, >20? - any excuse to slack is a good one) so that I can get as much science credit for them as possible (read: Math and Stats). I'm using PHYS 271 as a 'technical elective' even though technically I don't get one until later. PHYS 271 is "Introduction to Modern Physics" (read: quantum physics). On the technical electives list, it's the one science course without a lab that sounded really interesting. Plus I have a wee bit of background on it from Physics IB.

Just make sure your math is compatible with modern Physics. As I recall, it's pretty calculus-intensive (even moreso than classical physics). On the plus side (and especially if you're into this stuff) it's VERY interesting (and it even helped me understand my thermodynamics class that I had to take 3 times to pass).

That won't be a problem; I've already completed three calculus courses, and 201 is differential equations, which is actually an engineering course that's only open to engineers and physics or comp sci majors.

I loved my differential equations class. But I think it had more to do with the lecturer than the material (a brand new PhD who really loved the subject and made the class a lot of fun).
