First, a thingy.
From [livejournal.com profile] muora:

Reply in here with something you would like to do with me someday. Then post this in your journal to find out what people want to do with you.

And now for something completely different:
[cue drumroll]

Work: Part Two the Sequel!

[cue clearly faked enthusiastic applause]

Today sucked even more than yesterday. One of the girls, who has been around for a while, was really pushing me around until she got off at 2. She basically tried to force me to stay on the till until she decided I should go wash tables and dishes, which REALLY SUCKS because when the dishes come out of the dishwasher, like, duh, they're frickin' STEAMY and HOT. Even though I didn't feel so pressured after she left, I was still really pressured because there were so many customers, and so many of them wanted iced capps, which apparently I can make really well but the machine close to where I was working hates me, so either it doesn't dispense the slush properly or the beaters go insane and get the stuff all over the place. Chelsea let me go home at 4 again.

Anyway, one good thing did happen: since I was handling so much money, I now have a Lucky Loonie, a Terry Fox loonie, and the 60th Annniv. VE-Day nickel, so [livejournal.com profile] siromygod, you only need to be on the lookout for a coloured Remembrance Day quarter, thanks.

Speaking of which, I'm *still* in need of my alcohol fix.

the first question I'll answer on MSN

anyways:

Maybe check with someone about policy, but if you're having trouble with a certain machine, you might be able to use a different one (especially if it's spraying it everywhere).

maybe see if you can get some gloves if you don't like touching hot dishes.... They may not care, but it never hurts to ask

I didn't know about the VE day nickel, and I suspect I'll run across another poppy quarter at some pt - seeing as I saw two last semester....

Of course, I spent a lot of time running to the other side of the store to use the other machine ;)

I didn't know about the nickel either, but they are basically the same design as the ones made during WW2. It looks like this (http://www.mint.ca/ve/home.asp). I remember seeing something similar being done before, don't know if it was 10 years ago, but they weren't put into circulation.

Here (http://canadaonline.about.com/od/currency/a/victorynickel.htm)'s more interesting information about the nickel and the original one it's based on.

I has 2 coloured quarters within arm's reach

One is yours, if you want it, and if you're still local... ?

No probs - I may even be in Calgary in a couple weeks.

Either way, it is all yours.

Hey, what does the 60th Annniv. VE-Day nickel look like? And those poppy quarters are so rare, I haven't seen a single one since that day I got mine. But we just a got a whole roll of terry fox loonies. And what's the lucky lookie? Sounds familiar.

Look at the link I posted in response to [livejournal.com profile] forgottenlord's comment for a pic of the nickel. The Lucky Loonie is the one with the Olympic logo and the maple leaf over the loon on the back, they made it for the Olympics.

It's odd that I haven't heard of it though, but I also haven't watched much TV. How did you hear about it?

I didn't. I didn't know about it until today, then I googled it.

Oh, I just read the other comments. Saw the nickel, and I'm glad you have a poppy quarter now. And I can just search up lucky loonie.

You know, I wouldn't exactly mind visiting Canada, either. ;)
