"The High Priestess of IB," Part III
Feb. 20th, 2004 11:45 pmJustice was, for lack of better words, mysterious within the realms of our parish. That which we saw of it was, at most, confusing and harsh. One of us was demoted for improper conduct toward a superior. The defendant's testimony was rejected as evidence and the plaintiff's version of the incident was taken as definitive. The few who showed up to support the accused received a harsh berating from Her Holiness (who acted as judge) on the basis that we (I was one of them) were traitorous and weakminded to believe in lies. The idea seemed to be that the Church was flawless and infallible, and the High Priestess articulated that constantly. Their truth was to be our truth. All other views but her own (not necessarily the Church's) were blasphemous or inferior -- no, denounced. Yet official philosophy here taught that there is no single correct truth...and she (devil take her!) called us hypocrites for having inconsistencies in our views?!?
I speak no more on this matter.
