kyrasantaeNick led me to this interesting post about authenticating antique maps, which led me to poke around the maps that are sold on the Geographicus site.
It took me a little while, but eventually I found Jyväskylä on this old map:
I wonder why it was even included on this map; in the 1790s it wasn't even a city yet...was it a village then?
Oh snap! Someone misread the lettering and took the 'u' as an 'n'!
