So the Google-people have put up Street View pictures for most of the bigger places in Finland. The pictures seem to be made when it was still nice weather, so they date from, at latest, last summer (i.e. a year later).
Exploring the pictures makes me so happy but also so sad at the same time.
Jyväskylä
Here's where I stayed for the first night I was in Finland. My host (and guide) no longer lives here, though.

Here's the little pub that the other international summer students liked to go to every Monday evening. At least that's still there.

The "Hong Kong City" Chinese restaurant isn't there anymore, though :(
(Who the hell opens a Mexican/Asian/Italian restaurant? Someone who's out of ideas? Someone with an identity crisis?)

This is the spot where I happened upon the LARPers. The soccer field wasn't there before so it took a while to assure myself that this is, indeed, the right place (the intersection is still recognizable to me, and that manhole on the grass cinches it). This older aerial photo clearly shows the clearing (pun intended) that used to be there [Props to Microsoft Bing for having aerial and unclouded satellite photos of Finland].

Tampere
I wanted to find the sketchy kebab place we ate at, but I don't remember enough of our random wanderings (or I'm too tired to look right now). But we were talking about mustamakkara when we walked under this underpass.

Here's a better view of the "Big Tits" strip club than from my photo. :P

Maybe I'll look for more later...
