Again, from Facebook:

I feel slightly short-changed to find out that the meme going around was originally twenty-FIVE items instead of twenty. Therefore I shall give you FIVE MORE RANDOM THINGS. The original twenty are at this link. (But I won't tag any more people; it's not fair to appear like I'm mandating them to do it.)

21. Cooking is a private thing for me. Maybe it's because I don't really have confidence in my cooking skills, that is, it's a bit embarrassing for people to see my attempts that turn out to be non-food in my trial-and-error process (I avoid following recipes whenever possible).

22. Because I'm a bit of a "black sheep" in my family, sometimes I hear myself being compared to my late uncle - stubborn and self-serving. But the more I think about it, the more I feel that I really am like him in more ways than just those. My parents have stopped blaming me for who I have become but still blame the people in my past. I mean, there is a proven connection between abusive spouses and abuse in their childhood by others, but that kind of connection doesn't exist between (perceived) lack of social skills and collecting trading cards and Pogs, especially with how casual I was with them (I never wanted to play competitively or complete whole sets or anything). I won't go further into the details, but the moral of the story is that the past cannot always be judged as "good" or "bad". Doing so is very disempowering, in my opinion.

23. Why is it, that if people want to make disparaging comments and call me names because I'm wearing my cloak, they always do it from across the street? I'm getting better at ignoring these people, and for a moment I was tempted to make a list here of the names I've been called, but on second thought, it's better that I don't keep a record of them so that I can forget and better ignore them.
Next time I'm in Finland, I'm going to make sure to ask my interpreters to keep an ear open for that sort of rude stuff being said at me. They don't have to translate the comments for me, but I'd like some statistics.

24. I never wanted to go into a medical profession. Even though I read through just about every single kids' science and math book at the public library when I was little and found the human body (and astronomy, and physics, and chemistry, and geology, and math, and anthropology, and dinosaurs, etc. etc.) simply fascinating, I never went on to take biology in high school. The nail in the coffin was after writing the Science 10 final exam (in Grade 9 - I was taking an accelerated class), my teacher came up to me and told me that I had answered ALL of the biology questions (these were primarily on the parts of the cell) WRONG.

25. I started habitually wearing bandanas on my hair from emulating those people on the Survivor TV show who wear their multi-use tube-top/armband/neck-scarf/hair-tie/head-wrap/thingy on their head. I actually have those thingies in the Survivor: Africa (that's season 3; anyone remember that?) design in all three colours (dirty yellow, magenta, bright forest green), but obviously I don't wear them anymore because it's also almost embarrassing.
