Blind Faith

Call it blind faith, if you wish -
For it is not founded by reason
as you would rather it to be!

It makes no difference to think
That there are ways to be made hopeless
and at the mercy of great love

Before the unseen, there was the unknown
Before the meeting, there was the unseen

I think that the irrationality of it all
tends to lead to a misunderstanding
that this love is informed by popular belief -
but when even those beliefs cannot be
named, cannot be described, and one
knows that they are merely stereotypes,
it is certain that this blind faith
is more than novelty or some kind of stunt.

This heart will always go on. Will yours?
It is a shame that the empirical in itself
Sums to more than its meaning -
And even more than the certainty of that meaning.

But as I turn to you, fair wanderer
You seem to understand this,
And speak for me beautiful words
Because you see the seeker in the seeker's soul.
I sense no fear in you, nor you in me,
Or perhaps you just know better than to
Turn a cold eye to shatter a lover's dream.
