The problem of transferring credits
Feb. 17th, 2007 03:53 pmProvided that scheduling works out (if not, most of the sociology courses can be moved around from term to term), this is how the rest of my science program would look like (click to enlarge):
You'll notice that it looks a lot like it's a chemistry major, but it's not. I'm actually going to have my major in the "physical sciences" (includes chem, physics, geology) so that my physics credits from engineering count for something.
Since I plan to do a 2-year after-degree program in secondary education after this, the anthropology and math classes were chosen to satisfy the requirements for physical sciences major / math minor within the Education program.
I decided to choose materials and solid state chemistry stuff because that's the most like the materials engg stuff I've spent the last few years attempting to learn (which I liked, but not in an engineering context).
I really wanted to take Swedish, but upon looking into some beginner's Swedish books it looks just a bit too intimidating (and travel phrases are the bane of my existence), so I thought I'd do German instead (I took a ridiculously easy beginner's German course in high school, which contained the bane of my existence). Fortunately there's German *reading* courses, which should hopefully give me more of what I want out of learning a language (to be able to read and from reading, absorb enough of a sense of sentence structure to write in that language)
That's the basics behind my thought process for setting this up, there are many more little details and considerations but it's unnecessary for your understanding, I think.
