A new dimension of pain
Jul. 5th, 2006 12:58 pmI was bashing out Bless the Child on the piano again today while actually attempting to do the correct rhythm in the left along with the right and all that...
...I guess I wasn't relaxed enough with my shoulders and elbows down (proper posture) and now my left wrist hurts as if I had just sat on my hand and then yanked my arm upwards or something. It's the pain I sometimes get at night in my wrists, but a hundred times worse. There's a compression bandage on it now. The wrist, I mean.
Damn carpal tunnel!
Yeah, okay, I see what TH means by 'cramping' now, except I probably get it much worse than him :P
In related news, I just bought "Wondrous Strange," a biography of Glenn Gould. Gould is such a character - he's legendary for his humming, his mental problems (and prescription drug use), and of course, his piano playing :)
