Public Service Announcement

Public Service Announcement: Hong Kong shows a lot of public service announcements on TV. It's funny because you can get to either see them in Chinese with Chinese subtitles (for the Cantonese-impaired) on the Chinese-language stations, or in Chinese with English subtitles and texts translated into English (for the Chinese-impaired). I think the English subtitles are funny.

This one on 'Thanks for keeping HK clean' is my favourite by far, because it came on so many times while I was there.

The littering one is okay too, although I'm almost positive I've seen a very very similar PSA on Japanese TV with just the pop can part, except that the dollar value is in Yen.
Now where's the one for escalator safety?

Neighbours from Hell (reprise yet again)

I've been working in my room all day (and still not done! Argh!) and just recently there started to be emanating the sound of some girls talking loudly from outside my apartment. I thought it was downstairs in the mall, but surprise, surprise, it was the Neighbours from Hell. They're yelling and squealing and talking and there's a guy. And a guitar. Oh boy. If they're still talking by midnight I'm so going to call the RA this time. I mean, it's not nearly like Night of Hell, but it's still bothersome...and I'm sure it bothers the people on the other side of their apartment too.

It's not that I'm easily irritated (although I am), but that I'm tired of them being disruptive in all sorts of ways. I mean, if it were Friday or Saturday night, that'd be fine, but most of us have classes tomorrow. WTF are they doing socializing at this hour?
