Dec. 9th, 2003 11:00 pmHush, hush, from the hills
Roll forth a searing flame
Hear the rhythm of branches burning
Hissing to your name
Crackle, crackle, timber falls
As smoke billows higher
Blackened clouds of a stormy sky
Tending to the fire
You may have your secrets
But know them also do I
Your infamy shall be your fall
From strength grow weak and die
Don't you see the legions
Lining up for war?
Oh, how that is what you love
But what I so deplore
Of course, you must be their general
And the soldiers at your feet
Believe war is a must
And there is only [conquest], no defeat
What have you done to these men?
I take it upon myself now
To [make] the lesser sacrifice
To prevent my mind from this endow
Make my choice and think:
To be one like the rest under you,
Unshaken, submitted to your cause
And push me to do what I should not do?
Or to live on in peace and flee
Whether it be right or wrong here
To stop the corruption of my soul
And presently you I fear?
I would rather save my soul
Than succumb to your evil ways --
A war-loving world we're in
Counting down to the end of days
Die, die, I say to heaven
Either you or I
We cannot exist together
One must burrow, the other fly
How I wish you so!
Convicted of your deeds malign
Face now the hand of justice
And judgement divine
But let me deliver you
From your earthly state
Take you where you belong
And so too with your mate
You shall feed the flames with your cries
You shall learn that the 'right' always dies
You shall know no end to cruelty
And your home for the rest of eternity
Roll forth a searing flame
Hear the rhythm of branches burning
Hissing to your name
Crackle, crackle, timber falls
As smoke billows higher
Blackened clouds of a stormy sky
Tending to the fire
You may have your secrets
But know them also do I
