Lifting up more of the baseboards as in Ten (Thousand) Years of Dust part one, except I think we all gave up on getting expensive chemicals to scrub out the grime underneath.

You may have wondered why there was any grime under there at all, since it has been relatively sheltered from the elements and all. Aside from the dust and garbage down there, there's also heavy water? liquid? stains that are at least 10 years old (judging from old price labels I've found caked into the stains down there). I don't know what they're from, but they're not recent and they're brown and gross and stuff. It's probably from a time when people put waaaaaay too much wax on the floor during waxing (and it seeped under) or something, though at first I thought maybe they were water stains from a very muddy flood.

I also confirmed, from someone who's been at the store since... ever, that those floors down there haven't been touched since the store opened in '94. Feels like so long ago... back when the mall it's in actually had decorative fountains in the open areas, and there was actually a bookstore.

No you may not touch my knife, It's mine. (Unspoken: I don't trust you with it.)

And what part of "you're not going to use my knife because you're not gonna know how to close it and my thumb's too sore to close it from opening and closing it all night" are you questioning in "if you're so tired then go home and go to bed" and "you can't close your knife?!?!"

It's also really really not funny (or appropriate) to be chatting to your buddy about "which Harry Potter girl character would you sleep with" when I'm the only female in the vicinity and I'm surrounded by a total of 6 men. I also think it's funny you ask "what does a chemist do?" I also don't think it's appropriate to tease me about being an engineer ("you're an engineer and you can't fit a piece into a freaking groove?! you should have had it all measured out and fit so you could fit it in without using any force!").

I'm going to my manager.

I don't care if the other lady I work with says it's "just one of those things you learn to put up with and be quiet about because push will come to shove and you'll end up being the one at the business end of the LART".

A bit of unsolicited advice re: talking to your manager: Pick your battles. If you come in with multiple complaints it just makes you look like a complainy kind of person and then you lose credibility. Complain about the one or two main things that are bugging you and they are more likely to get resolved.
